Today was a beautiful sunny day. It was so nice to get out and about and check the traps. There was some not so nice mouldy bait, but otherwise it was all missing! So a big rebait was in order!

Otis, Ollie and Keaton dealt with the possums. We even caught one in our Steve Allan cat trap!

We listened for some birds next to the dam today and we found a few large ship rats in two of our traps! We didn’t hear many birds except for the riroriro (grey warbler), but we were lucky enough to see our Weweia cruising around 🙂

We also finally went down to have a look at the big dam structure below (students have been asking to do this for ages!) To see where the water goes.
